We have converted our 18th century character barn - in the heart of Frosterley village in beautiful Weardale - into a fully modernised budget-priced holiday cottage-style bunkhouse. As an accredited bunkhouse, it has a large family-sized bedroom (with 4 full-sized single beds), a woodburning stove and radiators, a well equipped kitchen, comfortable dining area, and spacious bathroom/wetroom. The barn can sleep 5 when we convert the dining room couch into a proper full-sized single bed.
For cyclists, the bunkhouse has its own secure bicycle store in the adjacent garage. We're on the North Pennines Wheels to the Wild cycle route and very close to both the c2c cycle route and the Walney to Wear and Whitby route. The garage also provides a drying space for hanging wet walking and cycling gear. For those arriving by car, we can provide off-road parking.
The camping barn has been awarded mobility access level 2 for its specialist facilities overall. To appreciate the efforts we have made to make the barn accessible to all, please have a look at our Accessibility statement - or phone us to discuss your access needs.
The bunkhouse is in a quiet secure courtyard, with its own secluded garden where you can relax, dine or enjoy a leisurely drink. It enjoys good local amenities, including a very good local Co-op, two pubs, excellent fish and chip shop, and is close to the Weardale Railway. And if you have children, we are adjacent to the village playground and playing field.

We gratefully acknowledge support from the County Durham Development Company's Tourism Enterprise Scheme and from the North Pennines AONB Partnership and Natural England (via the West Durham Rural Pathfinder).
